There are 30 waves and nothing happens at the end. It just says game over and shows you your score.
I don't see why this needed Stage3D. It's a fairly basic pixel game. I think Flixel, FlashPunk, or Stencyl could've handled this sort of thing.
My computer doesn't support hardware acceleration so games like this that use Stage3D while thinking they're helping the game run faster just lag all to hell.
By using stage3d I can port this to things such as Ouya in a matter of minutes, and have it run nicely using the GPU. There's a bunch of other reasons, such as liking the library better, and being able to do neat effects not possible with other libraries, but that's the main one. Unfortunately the side effect is that people who lack stage3d supported hardware do suffer, which really does suck, but it's a necessary side effect for the other positive effects.
Interesting to see a game where 90% of the assets are just background decorations that have no effect.
Dino Run Studio? Well they certainly didn't make Dino Run, one of my all-time favorites. That was Pixel Jam.
As for this game, well I guess it was kind of creative how you associated totally different actions with each arrow key, but my praise ends there. I finally managed to beat it, and the ending was just the title screen art with the words "raptor win." Kinda half-assed...
Ha ha, I thought it would be funny if the caption was "This is a demonic locking rune. Only fiends and congressmen can use it."
Yeah, this was definitely a rush job. I always say you're a master storyteller and an excellent artist and programmer as well. And this game was such a disappointment considering what we all expect from you. It just felt like you were sick of Kingdom of Liars and just wanted to end it so you never had to think about it again, which is too bad because I really liked the story and the characters. It's hard to call this a sequel because it's just a tacked-on ending that should have been part of the first game.
What was the point of that statue at the end?
Really terrific graphics engine. So fluid, and really a pleasure to play with. I think a lot of people would love it if you made another game with the same engine and maybe the same system of dynamic character generation. Maybe a more conventionally likable game, rather than a game about the boring and downright unappealing subject of canvassing. Being a canvasser is even worse than being a salesman. At least salesmen get to give people something in return for the money they talk them out of.
Also, the game glitched all to hell when I tried starting a new game after beating it. After making my character, it showed the outside of SOW with my character standing outside it and her pants cycling through every option, like a glitched cutscene.
I think you get the power too soon. You should probably see some enemies first.
Well I got to the room with the sword, and I kept picking up the sword and stabbing the monster with it and then the room would reset like I died and I'd have to go pick up the sword again. Finally I thought maybe I have to approach the monster from the front, so I went all the way back to the bottom of the screen and then I moved over to the right where the monster was and made my way to the top so I could kill the monster, and it worked. But then the three white squares aligned themselves permanently over on the left so I was stuck in the black wall and had to restart the whole game! I'm not going through all that again. We definitely need to be able to move faster. Slowness is a problem with a lot of your games.
