Well it's a fairly good representation of your faith, and I certainly can't begrudge you just because you're religious and are trying to tell people about it. However I do take issue with you saying this is about Jesus and NOT religion.

Why should Jesus be separated from religion? I feel like people do that in an attempt to say that Jesus is above religion. See there are thousands of religions out there and Christians don't want their religion to be lumped in with the rest because they want it known that their religion is special because it's the only one that's true. But everybody thinks their religion is true. Otherwise they'd have a different religion. So in the end this attitude that Jesus is somehow different from religion comes across as bigoted and intolerant. If being a religion somehow indicates that it's unlikely to be true then of course every religion wouldn't want to be called one anymore.

Christians seem to sense that the religion boat is sinking in the rising tide of reason and critical thinking so they want off. Religion doesn't get the point across anymore so they want people to know that they're better than religion.

thanks for the review
what i just meant by jesus, and not religion was that i was just saying the story of who jesus is as a person.
and you're right, it's up for that person to choose what to believe :)

Nice animation but there is no God sorryz

Christianity is evil for making people think they're worthless and that they deserve to go to hell. The fear of hell is crippling for so many people. Christian parents of atheists hate themselves for failing their children, even though the children are only using the brains that God supposedly gave them. No, you don't get to say God is all-loving and also condemns people to eternal torture for the stupidest of crimes. Believing this contradiction distorts your idea of reality in a way that can be very harmful. Specifically in your video, you say that your corruption is your fault even though you couldn't choose not to be corrupt. That is a contradiction and is a prime example of how unfair and immoral your religion can be. I hope you snap out of it but you seem to be in pretty deep. People who make Christian media are usually the least likely to change their minds.

nahtanojmal responds:

If I believed you would die from drinking water, would it be evil for me to reason with you why you should not drink water. Maybe.

But surely your argument would be more logical than mine. And if I was a reasonable person I would stop believing that you would die from drinking water.

I wouldn't be a Christian if I only knew Christianity through my parents and the Church.

God is love so He must hate evil. God cannot overlook evil or He would be corrupt, like a corrupt Judge who over looks the crimes of criminals. Our justice only looks on the outward appearance. God sees our hearts and minds.

You didn't hear the thing in context correctly. "You corruption is your fault. Not because you could chose not to be corrupt. But because you have not given up on yourself."
The answer to not be corrupt is out there. It is Jesus Christ. But because the person had not given up on self and submitted to Jesus, he still continued to be corrupt. It's his fault because he didn't chose the remedy. In other words he still has the disease because he didn't take the cure.

and Hey, thanks for your honest review ;)

Ha ha

On this girl's deviantArt, Antony told her they made front page on NG and she says "What's NG?"

It's a sad world we live in.

AntonyC responds:

I think NG can handle a little ambiguity. :)
...Towering internet colossus that it is.

Thanks for stopping by!

Excellent

I think those bad reviewers see a Sonic parody and automatically become convinced it's crap. This was hilarious and terrifically animated.

I don't know much about Sonic. Like I don't know why they're in a spaceship or who Chris is or what a hot dog is doing there. I do know who Amy is, but that's only because I played Mario vs. Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games for the Wii. But in a way, my ignorance just made it funnier.

kalabor106 responds:

I couldn't agree more. Sonic parodies your playing with fire. If you go a little awry from the story its a instant hate.

Nice

Considering how most of the time in fiction people sustain damage that should kill them and yet they're still up and fighting, I certainly don't mind people dying too easily because it sort of balances things out.

Emrox responds:

In my next movie, people are going to die for absolutely no reason for the sake of balance :)

Nice movie.

Who's the voice in this? I thought you were a girl.

Emptygoddess responds:

And I thought you were a dragon.

Great vid

So the main character is a girl right? But she's seeking a princess. Is she a lesbian?

There need to be more lesbian games.

Emptygoddess responds:

Technically the main character is a girl yes. Though just because she's seeking a princess doesn't make her a lesbian. The princess being the classic representation of a goal, some kind of meaning etc. Other lame 'deep' stuff.

She might be a lesbian, i dunno. i respect her privacy.

Magnificent

I just checked out the Monster Engine, and I must say your work is fantastically better than Dave DeVries'. Here's why.

DeVries starts with the kid's drawing and literally uses it as the outline for his. He takes the shape the kid creates and fills it in with nice realistic shading and applies backgrounds and such. It's little more than a parlor trick. He's going through the motions like he does in his job as an industrial artist, using little more creativity than some street artist drawing cartoony portraits of people.

But the kids don't know anything about perspective or proportion, so why would you count their drawings as an accurate idea of how these things they're imagining are shaped? I remember being a kid and not knowing the first thing about drawing something to really resemble an object from my imagination. You Newgrounds artists have used your own creativity and imagination to figure out what the kids might really have wanted to draw. DeVries looked at a kid's drawing. You looked at a kid's vision.

DeVries may have failed because, despite all his talk, he's forgotten how to really see through a child's eyes. You Newgrounds artists haven't forgotten at all.

RicePirate responds:

I really appreciate the kind words. I did love the idea behind the Monster Engine.

But for a number of the reasons you listed, I thought this would be a fun sister-project. Rather than copying the line art and filling in the gaps, to have artists go the distance of fully embracing their characters and giving them their own life... I thought would be really exciting. And you're right, these artists really did it. I'm so grateful to these artists.

I just really hope it's seen less as "Hey kid, watch me make a better version." and more of a "Your imagination inspired me to create this version."

One of my favorite parts of this whole project (it's still very much in it's infancy), is seeing the variety of styles each artist brings to the table. Variety of style is something that (while I really respect Dave's talent) I would have liked to have seen in the Monster Engine.
