Wait, so are you interpreting the lyrics as though each day he's only receiving the new gifts that weren't mentioned before, and the rest of the gifts are only sung to point out what he already got on the previous days? To me, it always sounded like by the end of the twelfth day he should have 12 partridges (unclear if they share a tree or have 12 separate trees), 22 turtle doves, 30 French hens, etc.

I think there's a mistake at 1:53. It says "Lift Yourself!" which was probably mistakenly copied from the next animation
