Great animation

By itself, it's a great song, and a great animation. But I felt like the Hitchhiker's Guide movie kind of missed the point of the book. The movie is all about sci-fi and action and dazzling special effects and big bold sequences like this dolphin one. They didn't focus enough on the comedy. In fact, they distracted from it. There was so much frilly decoration and extra stuff piled on that what originally was some of the best humor ever suddenly wasn't funny anymore.

So long and thanks for all the fish. It's one line, and a funny one when put in context. But when it's stretched out into an entire song it loses its ingenuity. It's what I hate about a lot of these new broadway musicals like Shrek or Legally Blonde. They latch on to whatever bit of real humor they have and shove it in the audiences faces until they wanna throw up. Repeating something over and over doesn't make it funnier.

Sorry, if that sounds like it's directed at you. I'm just giving my thoughts of some related topics. There's actually an earlier movie of Hitchhiker's Guide if anyone wants to check that out as well. Might be a little lackluster in comparison to the huge budget blockbuster.

Secrets for all you guys:
Click the word "secret" in the gallery.
Click the jellyfish the first time you see it.
Click the jellyfish hidden in the anemone after the "learn to sing" line and before you see the rockets.
Click the subtitles button when the jellfish shows up against the solid background.

If you need to, you can pause the movie by right clicking and deselecting "Play" or clicking Forward or Back.

Thanks to Xemnas95 for some hints about the last two secrets.

Good, but...

Everyone knows Kraid can't jump!

Wait a minute...

You people have to ask David Firth if he's some kind of psycho? Have you been living under a rock?

Ha ha

On this girl's deviantArt, Antony told her they made front page on NG and she says "What's NG?"

It's a sad world we live in.

AntonyC responds:

I think NG can handle a little ambiguity. :)
...Towering internet colossus that it is.

Thanks for stopping by!

Ha ha

"J.R.R. Tolkien is the next JK Rowling" =P

It's cool that you used the original version of "The Road Goes Ever On" instead of the one from the movies. I actually had a music book of Lord of the Rings songs that Tolkien himself wrote the music for.

All too familiar

The god of the gaps. Science hasn't explained everything, so feel free to make up whatever explanation you want and actively try to convince other people that your explanation is true.

@EmmaVolt: This is a specific message targeted at specific people. If a Christian is open-minded and doesn't subscribe to willful ignorance and anti-science BS then they have no reason to get offended by this because this isn't about them.

Ha ha

I wonder how many people actually notice that the picture in the preloader is Bill Gates.

This is hilarious

So are you gonna add voices? NG has voice actors aplenty, and not all of them suck. I recommend having a guy voice the old lady.

A masterpiece

I would say it's Miyazaki-esque. The animation and storytelling are both masterfully done. Animations that are paced this slowly are using boring, but you managed to keep the audience waiting to see what will happen next with bated breath. You build suspense so well.

Wow

There's like a furry witch and a Harry Potter Thor and a freaking Hypnotoad. I don't even know.

Nyaarg.
